International Institute of St. Louis Needs Rental Units

As you may know, our neighbors at the International Institute of St. Louis are our region’s only refugee settlement agency. Annually, they identify and rent housing for 250 families. Almost immediately after launching ARCH by HomeScreen: At-risk Renters’ Connection to Housing in March, we connected with IISTL to get several of their staff set up with ARCH accounts to aid in their housing searches.

However, as the war in Afghanistan ended earlier this month, we reconnected with IISTL to discuss their needs as they anticipate resettling more than 1,400 refugees over the next year. At the top of their priority list is building relationships with landlords to develop housing options for these folks before their arrival in St. Louis. They anticipate needing 250 three/four-bedroom apartments and another 200 one/two-bedroom apartments over the next year.

For more information, interested landlords and property management companies can reach out to Semere Desu at desus@iistl.org or 314-773-9090 ext 145

ARCH by HomeScreen will continue to be a resource for IISTL during this especially busy year, but we need more landlords on board in order to meet their needs and the needs of our other nonprofit users throughout the region. If you own a rental property and would like to advertise your available units to IISTL and over 40 other nonprofit organizations in St. Louis, register for your free HomeScreen account today.
