Tower Grove Community Development Corporation Receives $100,000 Grant from U.S. Bank Foundation

SAINT LOUIS, MO (3/8/2024) – Tower Grove Community Development Corporation (TGCDC), a nonprofit organization that promotes and improves quality of life by attracting public and private investment and provides real estate and other community services, today announced it has received a $100,000 grant from the U.S. Bank Foundation. The three-year grant supports TGCDC’s program HomeScreen Tenant Screening, which aims to provide modern, data-driven tenant screening solutions to create more equitable and stable housing in all communities.

“Creating equitable opportunities for our community requires resources, and we appreciate the support from the U.S. Bank Foundation, which helps us continue to build and expand the innovative programs we’re proud to offer,” said Sean Spencer, executive director of TGCDC.

This spring, HomeScreen will partner with U.S. Bank to provide financial education workshops to improve financial wellness, increase credit and build wealth through homeownership. HomeScreen hopes to engage with 400 of our 3,600 annual applicants to participate in the credit-building workshops. Our goal is to raise participants’ credit scores by 40 points or more and create 10 new first-time homebuyers this year.

“Safe and stable housing helps children, families, and communities thrive. Working with Tower Grove CDC to create access to affordable housing and help future homebuyers gain the financial knowledge is an investment that will benefit generations to come,” said Kristen Polchinski, community affairs manager at U.S. Bank.

U.S. Bank is committed to powering human potential and creating lasting change in communities. The bank does this through the Community Possible platform, including philanthropy, community investments, and team member volunteerism.
